Frequently Asked Questions
Do you repair boards with corrosion / battery leakage?
Corroded card
Usually not - corrosion causes unpredictable board behavior and a very high risk of another failure in a short time. Fixing one fault does not protect against the next one appearing elsewhere. Therefore, boards with advanced corrosion are most often returned without repair.
If the corrosion is minor - send photos before shipping. We will assess whether repair makes sense. In most cases, however, it is safer and cheaper to replace the board with a new one or a substitute.
How much does it cost to repair a specific board / model?
Do I have to send all the boards from the machine?
Yes - in most cases we ask for the complete set (e.g. main board + executive board). The boards work together and must be software-compatible. Full diagnostics and testing are only possible with the complete set.
You only pay for the one board being repaired. If you are unsure about a specific model - write to us before shipping.
What if the board turns out to be working properly?
We understand that it’s not always possible to verify a fault on another machine. That’s why we play fair: if after full diagnostics on our test machines the board turns out to be fine - we do not issue an invoice for repair, we only charge a testing/diagnostic fee (cost of preparing the machine and technician’s time).
What if the board is not suitable for repair?
In that case we return the board with no service charges (except possibly return shipping). This usually applies to heavily corroded boards, those with widespread burnt electronics, or ones damaged during unprofessional repair attempts.
Do you upload new software / firmware version?
By default - no. We want to keep exactly the same software version that was running on your machine. If you want to update the firmware during repair - clearly state it in the description and specify the desired version. We only do it upon explicit customer request.
Will the board remember prices and settings after repair?
No - during board cleaning we disconnect the backup battery to avoid working under voltage. Therefore, after repair the board boots with default settings.
After receiving the board, check whether the battery is connected and the jumpers are in the correct position.
What exactly does the warranty cover and how to make a claim?
The warranty lasts 12 months from the date of return shipment. It covers the repaired fault and components we replaced. It does not cover subsequent damage (corrosion, flooding, impact, incorrect connection).
How to file a claim: send the board with the note “warranty claim” - we’ll take care of the rest. Every board has a unique identification sticker. Detailed warranty terms → here.
Do you repair boards after unsuccessful attempts by other repair shops?
It depends on the condition of the board. If there is significant damage caused by unprofessional repair attempts we may refuse. Battery replacement or minor corrections are usually acceptable.
Best to send photos before shipping - we will assess the real chances and let you know whether we will take the repair that might be later on covered with our warranty.
Do you offer on-site repair or technician visits?
No - all repairs are carried out exclusively by mail-in service at our workshop.
I would like to come in person - can you repair the board on the spot?
No. Repair requires setting up a diagnostic station, testing, replacing faulty components, verifying the repair, cleaning the board and registering it in our repair database. It cannot be done “on the spot” - that’s why we accept boards only via shipping.
How does international shipping work?
Courier companies do not offer cash-on-delivery (COD) for international shipments. Therefore, we first issue a proforma invoice for the performed service - and ship the package only after it has been paid.
Do you have spare parts for vending machines?
We mainly offer custom solutions developed by us, such as photocells. Sometimes we have selected board models available. We do not maintain a large stock of spare parts for vending machines - our main focus is repair services. Write to us - we will check availability.
How many boards have you repaired so far / since when have you been operating?
VENDFix is a new, dedicated service brand of Techniline, which has been operating since 2002. Over the years we have repaired several thousand boards for customers from Poland and abroad. More than 300 customers have already trusted us.
